This personal labor of love was an initiative to build a Javascript game engine/framework for Web Developers. It's a full featured game engine capable of creating casual web games, fast. It has specialized web-specific functionality competing products do not have.

Entirely written in vanilla Javascript, leveraging PixiJS for rendering and HowlerJS for audio.

Wealthy Hog

A somewhat original game concept I came up with to teach kids the value of money and the importance of reducing debt. The objective is to slide/rebound coins towards the moving piggy bank (while avoiding debt) to reach a target amount. Each successful target completion will increase your NET. The ultimate goal is to increase your NET and become a "Wealthy Hog".

The game was made with Game Maker Studio and is currently available for FREE, on iOS devices only.

10 Hikes

This beautiful hiking site is fully responsive and includes many features like auto-generation of PDFs with hiking details, maps with route markers, elevation charts, and photo carousel.

This was really time-consuming to put together due to all the resources and custom maps, but a concerted team effort made it great.

Bluewave Energy

Under the Parkland Fuels umbrella, this site was built with Concrete5, and has many features like, search, sidebar modules, and dynamic national map with custom markers.

Notably, this project required a complex custom credit application form, with PDF generation capabilities.

The highlight of this project was a custom Javascript-based glossarizing function that automatically highlighted indexed glossary items, complete with a pop-up definition. The functionality of this extended to include special cases where certain common words were exempt in particular contexts.

Converted intricate Excel spreadsheet formulas and graphs to custom Javascript-based calculators. This allowed researchers to dynamically adjust any values and see the real-time calculated results, providing quick access to useful data.

Ignition Pack

Utilizing AJAX methodologies, I built a custom dynamic component in the back-end which allows teachers to assign resources and learning materials in an intuitive way. In addition, a custom integrated user manager was built to allow for admin level control of sign-ups, and access to content.

Spindle Stairs & Railings

The "Build-a-Stair Workshop" was a Flash-based application which allowed clients to customize virtually all aspects of their stairs. Spindles, posts, railings, caps, treads, materials, etc. It was all customizable. You could even change the floor type and wall colors!

The best part was that customers could immediately place an order after they have finished customizing their stairs!

Science Alberta - WonderCop Templates

This game was designed for Science Alberta's interactive "WonderVille" web application. The goal of the game was to teach kids some basic programming skills by entering letters and numbers into a command prompt to make the laser cutter cut out various shapes of increasing complexity. It required some trigonometric programming to get the laser angles right.

Mistletoe Command

This game was designed to work in tandem with a physical product that my employer was mailing out. Basically if you completed the game and received a high score, you would receive a link in order to obtain your prize. It was an original concept I spear-headed and took through to completion. Cabinet illustrations were done by a third party.

Royal Purple - BeOiled

Royal Purple (synthetic oil) commissioned me to build them a "BeJeweled" clone for their internal use.

Naturally, this was a Flash-based game and had all the expected functionality of a basic BeJeweled clone, including a personalized mascot for the client. It was designed and developed over the course of one week.
